so no.of triangles pointed up=1+3+6+10+15=35

friends salving of problem is not over we were counted only pointed up triangles only so now we will count the no .of triangles pointed down based on same as before we did i.e.”size of the base”

so no.of triangles pointed down=0+0+0+3+10=13

total no.of triangles in given diagram=35+13=48

you can by trying below problem with base size=6

diagram:

pointed up triangles =56

pointed down triangles =22

total no.of triangles =

56+22=78

This type problems we can solve so many methods.but this method will be very easy with out missing any triangle .
