Study is beneficial only when we are able to understand and taking interest in that. It is not important how much time you have studied look that what you have studied.
Firstly you have to develop interest in you
Second if you are not able to develop interest suppose you hate that subject then try to understand its concept.
Third is that some students prefer references books instead of taking help from main book but that's very wrong thing we should firstly study from our main book.
Concentration is a very important and useful formula for study.

You should take some rest after coming from school and then start to study.

Trying to answer the questions in the textbook after every chapter is a good place to start. You could also try to make bullet points for every topic.
