Sebastian before entering to coma,Banged his head in his computer.His memory and thoughts got transferred to the system.Someone stole the VR games and the system and Michael got them in the computer fair.That is how sebastian's memory was stored on Michael's disk.
Michael noticed the extra character in the game(Sebastian) and discovered that shultz was stuck by reading the messages that he got after playing each game.
