how was the church responsible for the french revolution?

because only royal family and church formed first estate. church had to pay no tax to royal family. all the tax was paid by third estate.
this created a burden on third estate for the luxurious life of royal family and priests.
so common people protested against itwhich led to french revolution.

On October 10, 1789, the National Constituent Assembly seized the properties and land held by the Catholic Church and decided to sell them as assignats. On July 12, 1790, the assembly passed the Civil Constitution of the Clergy that subordinated the Roman Catholic Church in France to the French government.
