the blacks treated under the apartheid system in south africa was particularly oppressive.
they were forbidden from living in white areas. they could only work there if they had a permit.
trains, taxis, buses, hotels, cinema halls, public toilets were all separate for the whites & the blacks.
they could not visit the churches where the whites worshipped.
they could not even protest against this terrible treatment......
