Aniline reacts with aqueous Bromine to give 2,4,6 - Tribromo aniline.

It further reacts with Nitric acid in the presence of Hydrochloric acid.

The resultant product then reacts with Hypophosphrus to give 1,3,5 - Tribromo benzene.1,3,5-Trinitrobenzene is a high explosive because it derived from a nitrated benzene.

It is high explosive in powered form and moderate in liquid form.
