How will you describe the magnetic field around a current carrying coil?

The magnetic field around a current carrying coil is produced due to the current flowing through it. It is uniform throughout. It is just like the magnetic field of a bar magnet. If needles of a magnetic compass are arranged around the coil, they will arrange themselves in North to South direction.
