Truly, it is ironical to call it the tiger of Mrs. Packletide as although she gained its possession, her effort to kill the tiger was in vain as the old and fragile tiger died out of a heart attack. In spite of using crooked methods and bribing Mebbin, she gained popularity and became famous with the tiger, working out the real motive behind it.
