It is actually incorrect to label this story as humorous,it is better to tag it as a satire on woman hood.You will realize this if you study the story very carefully.The author makes fun of the three woman and satirizes them.
There are many instances of it in the story like the hypocrisy of Loona Bimberton,the hollowness of Mrs.Packletide and their giving more importance to false notions because of false social prestige.Mrs.Packletide decides to fake a tiger hunting but is exposed by Louisa Mebbin,a blackmailer and money minded person.How she blackmails her is quite laughable.
In this way through these characters,the author satirises women for their weaknesses like false ego,jealousy,etc.
