Valency of oxygen is 2 and hydrogen is 1 .So oxygen can combine 2 atoms of hydrogen and so it forms water and firstly you will have to supply energy in the form of heat to the reaction. Then this reaction will take place which is shown below

2H2 +02 ->2H2o + Energy
