Psychology, asked by Supreetha, 1 year ago

i am currently writing my tenth grade CBSE board examinations. i Want to become a counselor or a counselling psychologist. i decided to take a humanities group in my +2 i.e. HLC (history literature civics) because I'm also interested in literature. One of the reasons i chose for a social group despite being interested in biology is because i didn't want anything to do with math. so i didn't choose BiPC as physics has to deal with a lot of Math. when i was doing research about counselling courses on the internet some sites mentioned that taking a science group will be beneficial. is it really mandatory to take a science group so that i have a better understanding of the profession or can i go with the humanities group.
i want to become a general counsellor so that i can deal with a wider range of issues ranging from Relationship issues, substance abuse, minor mental disturbances etc Instead of dealing with only one category like career counseling, addictions, marriage etc.
Also please mention in detail the courses I have to do and how long will it take to become practicing general counsellor. Are there good employment opportunities for counselors in India and what are the payments.
i hope i have provided you with enough information. please help me.
thank you!

yes..... it is necessary to take anyone of the field.. But as tou you are not interested in doing maths you can take bipc also but it take too much studies minimum it take 10years of course in MBBS ...... You can choose MPC also if you not get any vacant seat you can join in any private colleges..... my opinion is to take MPC
