Son's age = 2.5(x + 5 )

Your age = 3x + 5

2.5(x + 5) = (3x +5)

2.5x + 12.5 = 3x + 5

12.5 - 5 = 3x - 2.5x

7.5 = 0.5x

x = 7.5/0.5

x = 15
