Y = Aaron's age
X = Aaron's son's age
Aaron is three times as old as his son:
Y = 3X
In 10 years, Aaron will be twice as old as his son:
Y + 10 = 2(X + 10) = 2X + 20
=> Y = 2X + 10
Now we substitute in our first equation into the second
3X = 2X + 10
X = 10
Aaron's son is 10 years old. Therefore Aaron is 30 years old.
