Hey man,

Yeah I too am preparing for Class 10 CBSE Boards this year.

Socials for me also was a pain but trust me, if you just take the right methods to study, you will be perfectly fine.

Think of History like a story of the past. We all read storybooks and the History reader is pretty much no less. And unlike last year, these stories are very interesting (i hated last year's socialism chapter).

You have the first chapter of Nationalism in Europe, then Nationalism in India, The Making of a Global World and then Print Culture. All of these are very interesting chapters. In fact, after finishing this and then starting with others like Civics and Eco, you might find it quite boring after shifting from such an interesting stage!

Once again, treat History like a story of the past and you're gonna love it! Read every chapter till you've understood. Make time to read them. And then, afterwards, you're going to find the chapters easy and then you can learn the answers by heart but before by hearting, MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE LEARNING. Also, you just have one map and that is from Nationalism in India. Very few places, should be very easy. Learn the places and years of the INC sessions and important places of the Satyagraha and Non-Cooperation Movement, and Civil Disobedience Movement.

For Civics, this too is also pretty easy, as the board this time cut like 3 chapters from our syllabus! Anyways, you have Power Sharing, Federalism, Gender Religion and Caste, Political Parties and Outcomes of Democracy.

In my opinion, the first two chapters and last one is very easy to understand and so is Gender, Religion and Caste but you have to put a little more time on that. For Political Parties, if you're familiar with current happenings and the news, you will find the chapter very interesting. But anyways, I feel a little more time should be kept for Political Parties as well.

For Economics, you have Development, Sectors of the Indian Economy, Money and Credit, Globalisation and the Indian Economy. Okay, now to be honest, these chapters are WAY TOO EASY. Trust me, I'm not such a nerd in socials but when I study economics, I get too pumped up and my confidence level grows after studying economics because the chapters are easy to understand. However, just because of that doesn't mean you let go of studying them seriously. Economics is very important in terms of exam point of view, many important questions come so you have to be thorough with your text book.

Lastly, for Geography, you have Resources, Agriculture, Mineral and Energy Resources, Manufacturing Industries and Lifelines of the Indian Economy. Again, too easy chapters as they're kinda easy to understand, especially 1st four chapters. According to me, I feel Lifelines needs more of your time and attention as mostly five markers from this chapter come from the exam. You have many maps though, so make sure you study the main content thoroughly before heading on to the maps, because maps do need your concentration and time.

Finally, some tips. Always ration your time for a particular topic. For eg, give history, a certain allotted time for you to study (maybe 12 hours MAX in a day). You can split this time in factions, like (3-3-3-3 hours) for each chapter but make sure within these factions to NOT WASTE TIME AND HAVE BREAKS as this might ruin your focus. Only after finishing one faction, you can treat yourself with a nice 15-minute music playlist :P

After you've finished studying Socials, go to the net and SEARCH FOR WEBSITES THAT HAVE PAST YEARS BOARD PAPERS, so that you can get a glimpse of the questions at the board level and test how prepared and confident you are after studying. Usually you gain a lot of confidence after solving papers so I definitely recommend it. But only move to the papers after you've finished studying from the reader thoroughly.

Lastly, TIME MANAGEMENT IS VERY IMPORTANT. Keep track on how much time you're taking to study. Make sure you're always withing the limit of each faction and don't exceed the time. This makes sure that you have time for other chapters too. But you, yourself know what is your weak point so according to that, you can ration your time for a topic and give more time to a particular chapter. Also, TRY YOUR BEST NOT TO DAY DREAM WHILE STUDYING AND DON'T EXCEED THE TIME YOU TAKE FOR YOUR BREAKS.

And I think that's it, hope it helps.

If you're committed and honest towards what you're doing, you are surely bound to get 95+ in the Socials board exams.

And once again, I wish you all the best and success in your exams! Study well!

Have an awesome day! :))
