b) Given :-
30³ + 20³ - 50³
Using identity :- a³ + b³ + c³ = 3ac
Here, a = 30, b = 20 and c = -50
Therefore 30³ + 20³ - 50³ :-
= 3(30 × 20 × -50)
= 3(-30000)
= -90000
c) (i) (x - 1, -3) = (4, x + y)
Equating 4 by x - 1 and x + y by -3
» x - 1 = 4
➡ x = 5 -------(i)
» x + y = -3
➡ 5 + y = -3 [from equation (i)]
➡ y = -3 - 5
➡ y = -8
Hence, x = 4 and y = -8
(ii) (5x - 3y, y - 3) = (4, -4)
Equating 5x - 3y by 4 and y - 3 by -4
➡ 5x - 3y = 4 -------(i)
» y - 3 = -4
➡ y = -4 + 3
➡ y = -1
Putting value of y = -1 in equation (i)
➡ 5x - 3(-1) = 4
➡ 5x + 3 = 4
➡ 5x = 4 - 3 = 1
➡ x = 1/5
Hence, x = 1/5 and y = -1
