i read somewhere that charging your phone to 100 % is not good. is it true? if yes then explain

Yes, it is good to charge your phone up to 100%.
It will not affect your phone in any means, but after 100% you should disconnect your phone from charging. In almost every Smartphone after 100% it disconnect from charging automatically, that’s why if you by mistake forgot to switch of the power of the charger it will not make harm to your phone. (One thing I want to suggest you that you should charge your phone in power off mode and if you do not make power off then at least don’t use your phone for calling or gaming purpose during charging because at that time your phone releases more radiations which will affect you
