I threw a pebble 20 metre high in the air. it fell and settled at the bottom of a lake 12 metre deep.what is the distance the pebble fell

it will be 32 metre when it fell down from the air to the bottom

I'd think it would be 32 m cause you know it had to fall from the 20 m you threw it and then the extra 12 m..... 20+12=32m i'm guessing
