(i) Uniform circular motion is called uniform only because it's speed remains uniform or constant. The only thing that changes is the direction of motion . So in uniform circular motion the velocity keeps changing but the speed remains constant.

(ii) The force exerted on a body required for circular motion is known as centripetal force. It's direction is towards the centre of the circular path.
