ICSE MATHS-PROBABILITY---cards marked with numbers 13,14,15....60 are placed in a box and mixed thoroughly. one card is drawn at random from the box. Find the probability that the number on the card drawn is :

1] divisible by 5.
2] a perfect square number

prince998: in next step the number is 10..ok
prince998: next which we find the number 10 divide by total number which is 47.
prince998: so the answer is 10/47.

Total card are=60-12=48

(1) No divisible by 5 are:

15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55,60=10

hence probability=10/48=5/24

(2) perfect square are:

16,25,36,49

so probability=4/48=1/12
