Answers
iii] The television rots the senses of the children,it kills their imagination power due to which they no longer can understand a fantasy or a fairyland ,it clogs and clutters up their minds ,it makes thier brains as soft as cheese due to which they become dull and lastly , it steals their thinking powers to that extent that they could not think and only see.
iv] The poet recommends the parents to give the children to read in the place of the television set for entertaining the them.
The benefits of reading books for the children as mentioned by the poet are firstly ,joy would fill up their hearts, secondly,it will make them keen .
v] The poets advises the parents to install a lovely book shelf in the place of the television set .
On first accounts when they will see the change they would give their parents the dirty looks , they would scream , yell ,bite and kick and the might also hit the parents with stick but then in a week or two , when they will have nothing else to do , they will feel the need to read and then when they will understand what constructive the parents had done they will love the parents even more .
The central idea of the poem seems to be resistance which the television puts in children's life and the constructive effect of books.
