The compound of calcium which is used for plastering of fractured bones is plaster of paris(CaOH2.1/2 H2O)

CaSO4.2 H2O (Gypsum) =CaSO4.1/2 H2O(POP) + 1 1/2 H2O

PRECAUTIONS :

Gypsum should not be heated more than 373k or else it will form calcium sulphate (CaSO4)
