Mistake in ur 1st line  (1, 3, 6=5)
the correct method of solving is

1 + 3 = 2²  =>   2 + 3 = 5

9 + 7 =4²  => 4 + 4 = 8

11 + 14 =5² => 5 + 10 = 15

20 + 16 =6²  => 6 + 12 = 18

∴ 3 + 6 = 3²  => 3 + 7 = 10
