Let the no. be x.
35% of a no.= 35x + 39 = x
                       100
Then x - 7x = 39
              20
x = 20×39
         13
x=60

Let the number be x
35% of that number added to 39 is the number itself = 35x/100 + 39 = x
⇒7x/20 + 39 = x
⇒x - 7x/20 = 39
⇒(20x-7x)/20 = 39
⇒13x/20 = 39
⇒ 13x = 39×20
⇒ 13x = 780
⇒ x = 780/13
⇒ x = 60.

Check : 35x/100+39=x
          ⇒35(60)/100+39 = 60
          ⇒2100/100+39 = 60
          ⇒ 21+39 = 60
          ⇒ 60 = 60
Therefore , L.H.S = R.H.S .
