simply take cos A as common factor both in the numerator and denominator cos A will get cancelled and you have (4 - tan A) / (2 +tan A) Because sin A /cos A = tan A Now plug given value of tan A So (4 - 4/3) / (2 + 4/3) = (8/3) / (10/3) Cancelling 3 you have 8/10 and simplified into 4/5. You got it
