both the quantities of water have same mass (50 grams) so the temperature will be the mean of the two initial temperatures,
so it is 30 degree celsius

Answer:

30°C

Explanation :

Given,

Mass m1 = 50g

Temperature T1 = 40°C

Mass m2 = 50g

Temperature T2 = 20°C

By using method of mixtures,

Final temperature

T = m1T1 + m2T2/m1 +m2

= 50×40+50×20/50+50

= 2000+1000/100

= 30°C

The final temperature = 30°C
