if 60% of the students of a class pass and 60 fail in an examination what is the number of students in the class​

given:-

1) 60% of the students of a class pass

means 40 % students fail.

2) 60 fail in an examination

let, x be the total number of students....

hence,

=> ( 60/x ) × 100 = 40 ....... from given

=> 60/x = 40/100

=> 60/x = 2/5

=> 1/x = ( 2/(5×60) )

=> 1/x = 1/150

=> x = 150

hence, 150 number of students present in the class...
