if a-b = 4 and a+ b=6 find a²+b²​

a^2+b^2

= 5*5+1*1

Answer:

(a+b)^2=a^2+b^2+2ab

6^2=a^2+b^2+2ab (given=a+b=6)

a^2+b^2+2ab=36-----------------(i)

(a-b)^2=a^2+b^2-2ab

4^2= a^2+b^2-2ab

a^2+b^2-2ab=16-------------------(ii)

adding equation (i) and (ii),

2a^2+2b^2=36+16

2(a^2+b^2)=52

a^2+b^2=26

hence the answer would be 26
