Answer:

Let breadth be ( x ) cm and Length be ( x + 3 ) cm

Perimeter = 24

We Know, perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth )

On applying formula, we get,

2 ( x + x + 3 ) = 24

2x + 3 = 13

2x = 10

x = 5

Hence, Length =( x + 3 ) =>( 5 + 3 ) = 8 cm

Given :

  • Length of Rectangle is 3cm more than its width.
  • Perimeter of Rectangle is 26cm.

To Find :

  • Length of Rectangle.

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:Width\:be=x}

If length of rectangle is 3cm more than its width.So ,

\longmapsto\tt{Length\:of\:Rectangle=x+3}

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{Perimeter\:of\:Rectangle=2(l+b)}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{26=2(x+3+x)}

\longmapsto\tt{\cancel\dfrac{26}{2}=2x+3}

\longmapsto\tt{13-3=2x}

\longmapsto\tt{10=2x}

\longmapsto\tt{x=\cancel\dfrac{10}{2}}

\longmapsto\tt\bold{x=5}

Value of x is 5..

Therefore :

\longmapsto\tt{Length\:of\:Rectangle=5+3}

\longmapsto\tt\bold{8cm}

\longmapsto\tt\bold{Width\:of\:Rectangle=5cm}

  • Area of Rectangle = length × breadth
  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(l+b)
  • Area of Square = (Side)²
  • Perimeter of Square = 4 × Side
