Answer:

230.2 km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

if a formula one racer goes at his normal speed he gets 10mins late to reach his destination.if he goes 20km/h faster than normal speed he reaches on time.If his destination is 480km away from him,find his normal speed

Let say Normal Speed = X km/Hr

Distance = 480 km

Time taken for 480 km = 480/X  hr

increased speed = X + 20 km/Hr

Time taken = 480/(X + 20) hr

Time saved = 10 min = 1/6 hr

480/X  - 480/(X + 20)  = 1/6

=> 2880/X - 2880/(X + 20) = 1

=> 2880(X + 20 - X) = X(X + 20)

=> 57600 = X² + 20X

=>  X² + 20X -  57600 = 0

=> X = 230.2 km/hr
