a-b=7
ab=9
then a^2+b^2
= (a-b)^2+2ab=7^2+2×9=49+2×9=67

heya...!!!

given that:-

a - b = 7------(1)

ab = 9

from--(1)

(a - b) = 7

[ on SQUARING both side]

a ² + b² - 2ab = 49

=> a ² + b² = 49 + 2×9

=> a ² + b² = 67
