The reduced time will be 5 minutes (approx value)

Given data :

Necessary time = 35 minutes

Speed increasing percentage = 16.64%

Let,the speed = x

Increased speed = x + (x × 16.64/100) = x + (0.1664x) = x (1+0.1664) = x(1.1664)

So,

He covers

x unit of speed = 35 mins

1 unit of speed = 35×x mins

x(1.1664) unit of speed = (35x /1.1664 x) = (35/1.1664) = 30 mins (approx)

So reduced time

= (35-30) = 5 mins (approx) (answer)
