√(41^2-40^2=√81=9

hence breadth=9
now, p=2(l+b)
=2(9+40)
=98cm

hey friend...

here is the answer you have wanted...

so, the length of the diagnol being 40cm. and the length of the diagnol is 41 cm. in order to find the perimeter we will have to find the breadth.

as a fact,

recatngle angles are 90°
and when the diagnol is drawn . it divides the rectangle into two rectangles and we can find the breadth by using the pyrhogoreus theorm..
as one of the angles of the triangle is 90°

according to pyrhogoreus theorm

 {a}^{2} + {b}^{2} = {c}^{2}

C is the hypotenuse
A and B are the sides

one of the sides is 40
diagnol is the hypotenuse and it is the diagnol which is 41cm

 {40}^{2} + {x}^{2} = {41}^{2}

 {x}^{2} = {41}^{2} - {40}^{2}

 {x}^{2} = (41 - 40)(41 + 40)

 {x}^{2} = 81
x = 9

breadth is 9cm..

perimeter = 2(l+b)

= 2(40+9)

=2(49)

= 98cm2

hope this helps u!

have a nice day
