ten from the right includung a and ten from the left including b which makes 20(10+10=20)0000000
and 3 in between them which makes 23 people in all in a row.

The answer is 23 .

Adding the position of A from Right and position of B from left , then adding that to the no of people between them will give us the total number of people.

ie

Total \: no \: of \: persons = Position \: of \: A \: from \: right + Position \: of \: B \: from \: left + No \: of \: persons \: between \: them.

But this is the case when there is no overlapse ie Total no of people ≥ the sum of position of both persons.

But when it is not:-

Letting the position of A from right be RA

and the position of B from left be LB

Total \: no \: of \: people = RA+LB- No \: of \: persons \: between \: them+2

When there is only one person and his position is given from both sides- then to find the total no of persons we will add his positions from both sides and subtract one from it .ie

Total \: no \: of \: persons = Position \: of \: A \: from \: right + Position \: of \: A \: from \: left - 1
