given that

p(x) = tsquare-t-4

and also alpha and beta are zeroes

we know

  • sum of zeroes=alpha +beta=-(-1)/1=1
  • product of zeroes =alpha×beta=-4

for new polynomial

sum of zeroes=1/alpha+1/beta=beta×alpha/alpha×beta=1/-4

product of zeroes=1/alpha+1/beta=-1/4

therefore polynomial =xsquare +1/4x-1/4
