\textbf {Question} :

If α and β are the zeroes of the polynomial
4 {x}^{2}  + 3x + 7
Then find the value of 1/α+1/β.

 \textbf {Answer} :

1/α + 1/β = (α + β) /αβ ....... (1)

From the polynomial,

α + β = - 3/4

αβ = 7/4

Putting these values in (1),

(α + β) /αβ = -3/4 × 4/7

= - 3 / 7

Thus, the value of 1/α+1/β = - 3/7.
