alpha + beta = 1 -------(1)
alpha.beta = P -----(2)

now,
alpha² - beta² = ( alpha - beta )( alpha + beta ) = ( alpha -beta ) .1

=( alpha -beta ) = 3

√{( alpha+ beta)² -4alpha.beta } = 3

( 1 )² -4P = 9

P = 2

hks2: thank you
