old mean be m

new mean be M
old sum = s

m = s/n

now each entry increased by 5 means sum is increased by 5n

thus new sum = s+5n


M = (s+5n)/n

M = (s/n) +(5n/n)

M = m +5

hence proved mean increased by 5
