Given : If electrons are removed from a neutral body. its mass decreases.

To check : True or false.

solution : we know, mass of each electron is 9.1 × 10¯³¹ kg (approximately).

if N electrons are removed from a neutral body of mass M.

then, mass of removed N electrons , m = N × 9.1 × 10¯³¹ Kg

Therefore mass of ionised body (after removing of electrons) = M - N × 9.1 × 10¯³¹ Kg ≤ M

It is clear that initial mass of body is greater than that of final mass.

Therefore mass of body decreases.

hence statement is true.
