1. equivalent capacitance of parallel combination of two capacitors is 2C

2. since then 2C is in series with another capacitor C of Capacitance 2C, charge is same

3. hence charge on each parallel capacitor C1 and C3 is 40/2 = 20 micro joule

4. V in each parallel capacitor is 2 Volts

5. Charge stored in C1 = 1/2 C V^2= 20 micro coulomb
