Answer:

f(5)=13

5m+c=13

f(4)=11

4m+ c=11

subtracting these two eqn

m=2

putting the value of m in any of the above eqn

5m+c=13

5×2+c=13

10+c=13

c=3

Answer:

m = 2 and c = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

= > f(4) = m(4) + c

= > 11 = 4m + c

= > 11 - 4m = c ... (1)

= > f(5) = m(5) + c

= > 13 = 5m + c

= > 13 - 5m = c

= > 13 - 5m = 11 - 4m { from (1) }

= > 13 - 11 = 5m - 4m

= > 2 = m

Hence,

11 - 4m = c

= > 11 - 4(2) = c

= > 11 - 8 = c

= > 3 = c
