Since the above terms are in AP then we can apply the formula of 2b=a+c :
2(k+3) = (k-1) + (3k -1)
2k + 6 = k -1 + 3k - 1
2k + 6 = 4k - 2
6-2 = 4k - 2k
4 = 2k
k = 2 Answer.
