I think there is an error in the
question.
It may be like this.
If log 75 = y , log 25 = x then find
log 3 in terms of x and y.
Now ,
log 25 = x ---- ( 1 )
log 75 = y ----( 2 )
log ( 25 × 3 ) = y
log 25 + log 3 = y

By Logarithmic rules :
log ab = log a + log b
****************************************
x + log 3 = y [ from ( 1 ) ]
log 3 = y - x

log5 = x/2
Now,
log 75 = y.
x + log 3 = y
log 3 = y - x
log2 = log(10/5 )
log2 = log10 - log5
log2 = 1 - x/2 + 0y
