Given:

The median of the following data is 26.

13, 14, 16, 20, p+4, p+6, 32, 34, 37, 43

To find:

Find  the value of 'p'.

Solution:

From the given information, we have the data as follows.

The median of the following data is 26.

13, 14, 16, 20, p+4, p+6, 32, 34, 37, 43

There are a total of 10 terms. So, the median of the given series is computed as follows.

m = { (p + 4) + (p + 6) } / 2

m = (2p + 10) / 2

26 = (2p + 10) / 2

52 = 2p + 10

42 = 2p

p = 21

Therefore, the value of p is 21.
