Hey!!!!

__________

=> p(x) = ax³ + x² + x + 4

Since - 1 is a zero

=> p(-1) = 0

=> a(-1)³ + (-1)² - 1 + 4 = 0

=> -a + 1 - 1 + 4 = 0

=> -a = -4

=> a = 4

Hope this helps ✌️

Hey!

____________

As per the Question,

-1 is the zero of polynomial ax^3 + x^2 + x + 4

-1 was zero, so,

p(x) = ax^3 + x^2 + x + 4

a ( -1) ^3 + (-1)^2 + (-1) + 4 = 0

-a + 1 - 1 + 4 = 0

- a + 4 = 0

-a = 0 - 4

-a = -4

a = 4
