hère is your answer mate....

if -4 is a root of the equation then it will divide it with remainder = 0

therefore putting value -4 in the place of x.... therefore...

we get...

(-4)^2-p×(-4)-4 = 16+4p-4=0

4p=-12

p= -12/4= -3 answer....
