let f(x) = (k-1) x^2 + k(x) +1

given

one of the zero =-3

therefore

f(-3) = (k-1)(-3)^2 +k (-3)+1 =0

=> (k-1)(9)-3k+1 = 0

=> 9k-9-3k+1 = 0

=> 6k-8 =0

=> 6k=8

=> k = 8/6

=> k = 4/3
