SOLUTION:-

Given:

Quadratic equation;

2x² + x + k=0

⚫One root of the equation = -1/3

Therefore,

 =  > 2(  - \frac{1}{3}) {}^{2}   +  ( - \frac{1}{3} ) + k = 0 \\  \\   =  > 2( \frac{1}{9} ) -  \frac{1}{3}  + k = 0 \\  \\   =  >  \frac{2}{9}  -  \frac{1}{3}  + k = 0 \\  \\  =  >  \frac{2 - 3}{9}  + k = 0 \\  \\  =  >  \frac{ - 1}{9}  + k = 0 \\  \\  =  > k =  \frac{1}{9}

Thus,

The value of k is 1/9.

Hope it helps ☺️
