b=0

If ( a,b ) lies on x -axis, then there is no y component

so, b =0

OR

We know that, slope of x axis is 0

y = mx + c »»EQ 1
; on x axis every point be (x, 0)

from that
0 = 0(x)+c

c = 0
»» from EQ 1
»»at point (a,b)

»»b = ma + c
»»b=c =0.

Answer:

The value of b in the given point (a,b) is zero.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • If the point (a,b) lies on the X-axis then the y-coordinate of the point will be zero i.e. b = 0.
  • The y-coordinate of the point (a,b) is zero which means the distance of the point (a,b) from the X-axis will be zero because the point itself lies on the X-axis.
