If price of tea increased by20% . By what percent must the consumption be reduced to keep the expense same

But I can solve it with a short trick

Let total Expenditure is 100

But price of tea is increased by 20 % then total Expenditure is 100 + 20 % more

Then 100 + 20 = 120

It means new Expenditure is 120

Then 20 ÷ 120 × 100 = 16.66 %

It means 16.66 percent must the consumption be reduced to keep the expense same

To keep the same, we will have to reduce that to 20. The less you spend, the less the consumption will be.
