Given - Resistance and voltage

Find - Power

Solution - Power consumed = Voltage²/Resistance

Resistance = 4 + 5 + 6

(As the resistance is connected in series)

Performing addition

Resistance = 15 ohm

Keep the values in formula to find the resistance.

Power =   \frac{{5}^{2} }{15}

Taking square of numerator

Power =  \frac{25}{15}

Performing division

Power =  \frac{5}{3}

Performing division

Power = 1.67 Watts

Hence, the power consumed by the combination is 1.67 Watts

The power consumed by the combination of 4 ohm, 5 ohm, and 6 ohm resistors connected in series with 5V battery is 1.67 Watt.

Given:

R_{1} =4,R_{2}=5,R_{3}=6 are connected in series and V=5

Then the total equivalent resistance is,

R_{eq}=R_{1}+R_{2}+R_{3}

      =4+5+6

      =15

We know that,

Power,P=\frac{V^{2} }{R}.

Then,

P=\frac{5^{2} }{15}

P=\frac{25}{15}

P=\frac{5}{3}

P=1.67 Watt

Therefore, the total power consumed by the combination of 4 ohm, 5 ohm, and 6 ohm resistors connected in series with 5V battery is 1.67 Watt.
